As the TDP, YSR Congress MPs prepared to move a no-confidence motion today, the TDP MPs staged a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament over the accordance of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury also joined the protest.

Speaking in this regard, TDP MP Thota Narsimham said that they will move the no-confidence motion and have talked to the opposition parties including TMC, Congress and Samajwadi Party. He even went on to add that the YSR Congress Party is just doing politics and are not concerned about the welfare of the state.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said that they are ready to face no-confidence motion as they have support in the House and are confident.

Meanwhile, TRS MPs protested outside the Parliament carrying placards saying 'One nation, One law', demanding an increase in the quota of reservation in Telangana.

Speaking to ANI, TRS MP AP Jithender Reddy said, “We have been fighting for Telangana cause from the beginning. As a new state, our population is different, so we want to have own set of reservations in the state. Why should India have different laws for different states?”

The Lok Sabha witnessed an uproar with TDP, YSRCP and TRS MPs staging protests inside the house.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh said in Lok Sabha that they appeal for a discussion to be held on the issue of the no-confidence motion.

Amidst the constant protests, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till tomorrow and no-confidence motion has not been introduced. Rajya Sabha too adjourned till tomorrow after protests by TDP and AIADMK MPs with the latter prioritising the demand for constitution of a Cauvery Management Board by the centre.
