The youth of Tamil Nadu is yawing for a change. They want freedom from Dravidian politics which has pushed the state backward. Today Tamil Nadu reels under all pervasive corruption and maladministration. People are hoping for new alternatives to take control of TN.

In the recent past, PMK (Pattali Makkal Katchi) has been maintaining a very consistent stand on freeing Tamil Nadu from Dravidian rule. Unfortunately PMK do enjoy cast baggage and to some extent, muscle power dominance. If the well educated PMK leader plays his card well by bringing all castes to its fold by giving seats for all upper casts including Brahmins wherever such equations would work, certainly PMK can re-write the history of Tamil Nadu like how the Mayavathi of BSP did a decade ago in UP. Such move also will be seen by people as PMK is ‘Equal Caste Opportunity Party’.

The question is whether such formula alone is sufficient, certainly not enough. The clouds and shadows of suspicion around PMK is quite high in urban areas and PMK definitely need a big title to tilt the people’s mood to its favour. Modiji can do such magic for PMK as well as for Tamil Nadu.

Both PMK and BJP must recognize the truth that preventing Dravidian rule in Tamil Nadu is more important than own agenda and differences between BJP and PMK. PMK also must respect the larger truth that when whole of India respect and vote BJP, for the best of Tamil Nadu, BJP must be given due space in the state to take the state to success.

Both Dravidian parties by blaming each other, by adopting Tirumangalam formula and through freebies have been winning election after election. Ironically each one is blaming the other for the present state of affairs in Tamil Nadu but conveniently forgetting the past that they both only have made the state as capital of corruption and maladministration.

Both BJP and PMK should not look for an auspicious day for forging an alliance but must set the ball rolling much before the election. Certainly many small fragmented parties in Tamil Nadu may gang together to oppose such an alliance but Modiji can easily win the heart and brain of Tamil Nadu due to his integrity, commitment and vision.

The weak AIADMK has not strengthened DMK which is quite contrary to the natural expectation.

It means people are not interested in DMK as their best option but are looking for new possibility. If such strong new possibility does not emerge, naturally the saga of Dravidian politics and dynasty may return.

PMK has great responsibility today to save Tamil Nadu, many feels. This wonderful opportunity PMK should not miss. If they fail to display their responsibility, perhaps people of Tamil Nadu may not forgive them in future, some argue. If PMK invites BJP, it can create ‘3Win’ formula; win for PMK, win for BJP and definitely win for Tamil Nadu as well.

Instead of taking Tamil Nadu to global path, the Dravidian parties are still adopting the trick of taking the state to the old linguistic patriotic path. Promoting the regional language is not bad but misguiding the people and unite them in the name of language will do no good to people but it does wonders to the Drawidian parties. Time has come people also must recognize the truth.

More than rhetoric about Tamil supremacy, Tamil Nadu needs plenty of water storage ponds, solar power generation mechanism, desalination plant, valley and dale free, smooth and well connected roads, uninterrupted power supply, good green coverage, complete abolition of liquor, excellent sanitation facilities, good infrastructure in primary health centres, recognizing and using the paramedical benefits of Tamil traditional health care system and engaging the institutionally qualified Tamil traditional health care system for health and hygiene awareness programmers and providing paramedical services etc., assumes high priorities for the state.

PMK and BJP can really workout an excellent common agenda for governance and can in fact start reaching out to people. By joining with BJP, PMK can set the record straight that it has strong vision for the state and to achieve it, both the state and the centre must function together and not fight.
