Karimnagar: The Commissioner of Police, V B Kamalasan Reddy felt happy that all sections of people are cooperating with the police department in the installation of CCTV cameras for maintenance of law and order and also to keep check on the crime in the city.

Doctors and the management of private hospitals in the city handed over a cheque of Rs 35 lakh to the Police Commissioner as their contribution for installing CC cameras in the city, on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamalasan Reddy said with the donation amount of Rs 35 lakh cheque given by doctors and private hospital managements, about 43 high quality CCTV cameras will be installed in Doctors Street, IB, Mancherial and Court Chowrastha and also at Apollo hospital.

Installation of CCTV cameras at crowded places had prevented many crimes and also helped to solve many cases with ease, he observed.

The Police Commissioner also said that notices are issued to owners of cinema halls, educational Institutions, shopping malls, function halls and at main business centres for installing CCTV cameras.

If ignored stringent actions would be taken, he warned.

Additional Commissioner of Police T Annapurna, Trainee IPS Dr Sangramsingh G Patil, ACP J Rama Rao, Two Town Inspector Hari Prasad, Doctors Bhagya Reddy, Dr Mohammad Ali, Dr Sagar Rao, Dr Maturi Srinivas, Dr Thrinath Reddy and Dr Venkat Reddy were present along with others.
