Nizamabad Municipal workers hold dharna at MLA’s house

A large number of municipal workers participated in a dharna under the aegis of the Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) in front of the Nizamabad Urban MLA Beegala Ganesh Gupta’s house here on Friday and raised slogans against him.
Nizamabad: A large number of municipal workers participated in a dharna under the aegis of the Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) in front of the Nizamabad Urban MLA Beegala Ganesh Gupta’s house here on Friday and raised slogans against him.
Speaking to the media, CITU leader Malyala Govardhan said that there were many municipal workers working on contract or part-time basis though they put in lot of years of service. He demanded the government to regularize their services immediately.
Govardhan said that the wages of municipal workers should also be enhanced according to GO No. 14. They should also be provided with 2BHK houses and health cards, he added.
