Media can play key role in Swachh Bharat: Collector
Media can play key role to achieve the goal “Swachh Vizianagaram’ by making Open Defecation Free district by March, 2018. It has the capacity to change the altitude of the public by creating awareness on these issues’ says District Collector Vivek Yadav while addressing a Media Sensitisation Workshop organised by District Administration at Z.P. Meeting Hall on Friday.
Vizianagaram: ‘Media can play key role to achieve the goal “Swachh Vizianagaram’ by making Open Defecation Free district by March, 2018. It has the capacity to change the altitude of the public by creating awareness on these issues’ says District Collector Vivek Yadav while addressing a Media Sensitisation Workshop organised by District Administration at Z.P. Meeting Hall on Friday.
He said that Vizianagaram District has to go a long way to achieve this goal, as the district is now far behind the target. A united effort is needed to achieve this goal, the District Collector said while addressing the workshop. At present only 2.3 lakh households in the District have toilets. To achieve this goal nearly 3.00 lakh individual toilets are to be built in the next two years, he said. There is no dearth of funds to achieve this goal, but motivation among public is the key to achieve results in this issue, he explained.
Executive from State Water and Sanitation Mission Mr.Ravikanth has made a Power Point presentation on impact of Open Defecation on Health, Education and Workforce conditions and its impact on physical and mental growth of children. C.E.O. of Zilla Parishad G.Rajakumari and S.E., R.W.S. N.V.Ramana Murthy, D.P.R.O. D.Ramesh participated in the workshop.
