Kadapa: Leaders of various political parties and officials paid rich tributes to Dr. BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his 126th birthday celebrations across the district on Thursday. Marketing minister C. Adinarayana Reddy, TDP district president , ZP Chairman G. Ravi , district collector K V Satyanarayana ,SP PHD Ramakrishna etc garlanded the statue of BR Ambedkar located at the old bus stand and paid rich tributes to him. Meanwhile YSR Congress president and Pulivendula MLA YS Jagan Mohan Reddy garlanded the statue of Ambedkar at Pulivendula.

On this occasion, marketing minister unveiled the newly constructed pedestal of Ambedkar at Collectorate on Thursday. Addressing the gathering in the meeting organized by the administration at Sabha Bhavan, C. Adinarayana Reddy said that the government is committed for uplifting the living standards of downtrodden communities in the state. He said that government is keen on introducing the several welfare schemes like Mundadugu etc in the interest of development of the down trodden communities.

The minister lauded the Collector K V Satyanarayana for his initiative in constructing the Ambedkar statue in the premises of Collector office, the first of kind in the state. He urged the SC, STs to properly utilise the welfare programmes designed for them. District Collector K V Satyanarayana said that the district administration has resumed 1103 acres of lands in 23 mandals which were earlier distributed to the SC, ST,s , grabbed by landlords and handed them over to the real beneficiaries.
