Visakhapatnam: In a view to accord top priority for common man to have the ‘Nijaroopa Darshan’ of Lord Sri Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimha Swami during Chandanotsavam to be held on April 29, it was decided to sell Rs 1,000 darshan tickets in limited number, informed executive officer K Ramachandra Mohan.

  • Says special darshan tickets will be released in limited number and have to be purchased online before April 25.
  • Protocol VIPs to have darshan only in designated time slot.
  • Jajical variety of sandal wood procured for making paste to be applied to the deity.

To assess the progress of works for the annual fete, the executive officer has been conducting review meetings frequently, as the temple management was determined to conduct the annual festival, without causing any inconvenience to devotees coming from far off areas like Odisha.

“Those who want Rs 1,000 darshan tickets must apply online before April 25 and all the protocol VIPs shall have to visit the temple between 5 am and 6 am and again from 4 pm to 5 pm, without causing any inconvenience the flow of ordinary devotees,” he asserted.

Talking about sale of other darshan tickets like Rs 500 and Rs 200, he said it would be made available in designated bank branches just four days before the utsav. With the number of Sri Vaishnava pandits taking part in the Sahasra Ghathabhishekam crossing 500 every year, the EO asked the officials to ensure that the number should not cross 300.

About procurement of sandal wood pieces, Ramachandra Mohan informed that they were bringing 100 kg of Jajical variety of sandal wood pieces from Chennai by spending Rs 17 lakh. “A stock of 120 kg of sandal wood pieces is ready, which was purchased from Gupta Enterprises.

We will start making sandal wood paste on the Ekadasi day on April 22,” he stated. The engineering officials were busy making queue line barricades near Kesakhandana hall, North Gopuram and Nrusimha mandapam areas. The EO appealed to the voluntary organisations to take up service activities at the temple like every year.
