Khammam to host State ranking TT from Friday

Khammam: Bolstered by the tremendous response to the State ranking tournament held in September two seasons ago, the first ever major tournament in the district, Khammam District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA) and the Hyderabad-based happening Global Table Tennis Academy (GTTA) are coming together for yet another blockbuster here.
The stage is all set for the second Telangana State Ranking Table Tennis tournament at Sardar Patel Stadium from September 16-18.
In order to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament, Organising Committee Chairman and former paddler Dr Rajesh Garge and its Secretary Dr S Ramu, who founded GTTA, along with Balasuri Shiva Shankar, technical committee member of the Telangana State Table Tennis Association (TSTTA) inspected the facilities and interacted with the district sports officials on Saturday.
According to chief referee M Lakshmikanth, competitions will held in ten categories, including cadet boys and girls, sub-junior boys and girls, junior boys and girls, youth boys and girls, men and women, during the three-day event.All the top contenders, fresh from the recently held event at Mahavir Institute in Hyderabad, are expected to be seen in action.
