Two girls whose sporting career is sponsored by ASBAH have won laurels for the country at two different international sporting events.

Jafreen Shaik – young tennis player from Hyderabad, Telangana, lost her hearing ability at a very young age. But this handicap has not discouraged her from pursuing her passion for playing Tennis at the top level. Her determination to excel is finally paying off. She has won the Gold in doubles and 3rd Position in singles at the Slovenia Deaf Tennis Open at Portoroz held between September 8th – 11th, 2016.

In the doubles, Jafreen Shaik & Parul Gupta from India played with Janosikova Jana & Tayum from Slovakia and won by 2.6, 6.4 (10.6). In singles, Jafreen secured 3rd position Banguoglu Tutem from Turkey by 6.1, 6.0.

“I am proud of my daughter Jafreen for persevering with her dream. She is fortunate to have “ASBAH” lending her support and helping her achieves glory at international level,” said her father Shaik Zakeer Ahmed.

Another girl Pinki – A Gold Medal winner at the World Yoga Championship held at Malaysia in 2015 has made the nation proud once again by securing Bronze Medal at the 6th Asian Yoga Championship held at Hanoi, Vietnam between September 3rd - 5th, 2016. 13 countries participated in 6th Asian Yoga Championship held at Hanoi, Vietnam. To name a few are India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Dubai, Philippines, China, Iran, Hong Kong etc. The young Yoga instructor from Haryana is making a positive difference through the art of fitness. She has traveled around the country and inspired many lives. Pinki teaches young students the essence of Yoga which is harmonizing one’s body, mind, and soul.

On her success, Pinki said, “if not for ASBAH’s support when I was facing financial hardship, I wouldn’t have achieved this success.”
