SAAP to select top players for sports academies
Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh will select more than 200 talented players from 11 disciplines and train the players to become national and international players. These players will be selected and trained at sports academies located in different parts of the State.

Krishna District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) B Srinivasa Rao said on Monday that the selection trails would be held at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium in Vijayawada on July 19 to select eligible sports persons for Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Academies. He said that the selection trials would conduct to select talented players from 11 sports disciplines.
DSDO Srinivasa Rao in a press release said that the players who had represented India in any recognised championship or tournaments by the recognised international federation concerned are eligible to attend the selections in Vijayawada.
He further said those who secured first eight places in sub-junior including cadet, junior and senior national championship organised by a recognised national sports federation, inter-university, national school games, sports competitions conducted by Sports Authority of India (SAI) during current or the previous year are also eligible for the selections.
He informed that sports persons who obtain first three places in the state championship conducted by the recognised state sports association. The first three position-holders of district championship inter-district level competitions, can attend the selections.

Sanskruthi Global School, Visakhapatnam: Archery, Cycling, Riffle Shooting, Ananthapuram : Boxing, Judo, Narasaraopeta (Guntur): Taekwondo, Weightlifting, Nellore: Badminton, DSA stadium, Kakinada: Gymnastics, Judo, Weightlifting, NTR stadium, Gudivada (Krishna) Fencing, Taekwondo, DSA stadium (Nellore): Athletics, Badminton.
