President Ram Nath Kovind presents the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award to Paralympics double gold medallist and world record holder Devendra Jhajharia at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on the occasion of National Sports Day celebrated on the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, on Tuesday.
Jhajharia is the first para-athlete to be honoured with the highest sports award in the country. He shares the coveted honour along with former Indian captain, Sardar Singh in this year’s roll of honour.
