Fifteen day football camp organised at Ukhrul
A fifteen-day winter football coaching camp kick-started at the Patkai Academy in Ukhrul District of Manipur on Saturday.
Ukhrul (Manipur) : A fifteen-day winter football coaching camp kick-started at the Patkai Academy in Ukhrul District of Manipur on Saturday.
The camp, which has been organised by the Patkai Christian Academy, aims to promote football in the state.
The coaching camp, under the leadership of Khareithan Phungchamnao, who is a popular national football player, will aim to provide basic training of football to young students during their non-productive hours.
Moreover, six national football players, who are also certified coaches, will provide coaching to 60 participating young students.
The state has produced eight international players in the recent World Cup and seeks to train more local talents.
Realising the potential, Khareithan Phungchamnao, who is also the camp director, took an initiative to contribute towards the development of football in Ukhrul and initiated organising small camps at regular intervals.
