Hyderabad: India’s best known kabaddi player and one of the hottest properties of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Rahul Chaudhari left scores of school children awe-struck with his presence here on Friday.
He visited several schools in the city to propagate the #Raid-ForGold initiative that has been launched by Mashal Sports. In keeping with the campaign, he ex-horted the youngsters to take pride that India was the undis-puted champion in the rugged sport.
He hoped that everyone would bolster the morale of the national team when it heads for Indonesia to defend its Asian Games gold. The men have been champions for seven consecutive Asiad editions while the women have remained unbeaten for last four editions.
Chaudhari said he was sur-prised by the warm welcome he received from the children, which he contended, was an indication that the sport was catching up people from all ages in the cricket-obsessed nation.
The Telugu Ti-tans stalwart reminded the gath-ering that #RaidForGold was pledge that every Indian ought to take so that the players will have the feeling that the nation’s hopes are pinned on their shoulders.
