Hyderabad boys and girls are the Champions of the 4th Telangana State SubJunior Under13 Years Inter District Basketball Championship 2018 conducted by Secunderabad YMCA Alumni in association with St Patricks High School
Hyderabad: Hyderabad boys and girls are the Champions of the 4th Telangana State Sub-Junior (Under-13 Years) Inter District Basketball Championship 2018 conducted by Secunderabad YMCA Alumni in association with St. Patrick’s High School.
In the Finals they defeated Ranga Reddy Boys and Girls respectively played at St. Patrick’s High School basketball grounds, Secunderabad.
Girls: Hyderabad got a scare from Ranga Reddy as after trailing 6 – 13 at end of 1st quarter, Hyderabad recovered well to score a facile 44 – 23 after leading 29 – 16. Lasya of Ranga Reddy used her height to good effect to score from the paint to take a 13 – 6 lead at the end of 1st quarter.
However in the 2nd quarter Hyderabad played a fast paced game with Joshika aided by Brinda and Gunashri fought back well from 6 – 13 down to 29 – 16; scoring a massive 23 points and with their tight defense restricted Ranga Reddy to just 3 points taking a huge morale boosting 29 – 16 lead at half time. Thereafter Hyderabad maintained the rhythm in the second half and finally comfortably won 44 – 23.
Boys: Hyderabad comfortably defeated Ranga Reddy 45 – 13 after leading 28 – 9 at half time. From the start Hyderabad outpaced Ranga Reddy defence to take a massive 19 – 3 lead at the end of 1st quarter. Thereafter Ranga Reddy were just catching up but the tight defence of Hyderabad did not allow Ranga Reddy from the first quarter setback. Sravan, Saryu, Kaushik played brilliantly for Hyderabad, Nagarjuna waged a lone battle for Ranga Reddy.
