Harley-Davidson has updated the Softail range of motorcycles consisting of the Fat Boy, Heritage Classic, Fat Bob and Street Bob for 2018 as it celebrates its 115th Anniversary year.

All the four motorcycles come with a stiffer and lighter steel frame and swingarm. The updated Softail range also gets high-performance dual-bending valve suspension at the front and an adjustable monoshock (hidden) at the rear. The American bikemaker claims that the 2018 Softail range is faster, lighter and better handling than any of their Big Twin cruiser predecessors.

All the four motorcycles come powered by a new Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin (1745cc) motor producing 145 Nm of torque. The powertrain comes paired to a six-speed gearbox and retains the iconic 45-degree V-Twin cylinder angle with a broad-shouldered top-end. The engine comes tightly packed thanks to the Softail frame’s rigid mounting points. The Milwaukee-Eight powerplant also features a refined, dual internally counter-balanced system that reduces engine vibrations.

2018 Street Bob – The Street Bob is the most affordable motorcycle in the Softail range. It gets minimalistic design cues and weighs seven kgs lesser than its previous model. It gets black spoke wheels with chopped fenders, 13.2-litre fuel-tank and low profile riser-mounted digital instrument screen.

2018 Fat Bob – The Fat Bob is the most stylish and modern-looking motorcycles in the Softail line-up. The bike gets dual disc brakes at the front, inverted 43 mm cartridge-style front forks and 150 mm and 180 mm front and rear tyres respectively.

2018 Fat Boy – The legendary Fat Boy gets an aggressive steamroller stance and front-end design. The motorcycle gets 160 mm front (widest-ever on a Harley production motorcycle) and 240 mm front and rear tyres respectively. The Fat Boy isn’t fat anymore as it has shed a good 16 kgs. The vehicle also gets ABS as standard.
2018 Heritage Classic – The most expensive motorcycle among the Softail range is the Heritage Classic. The bike is a fully-loaded cruiser. The Heritage Classic gets new detachable windscreen, taller suspension, ABS and Cruise Control. The vehicle also gets rigid, lockable, sealed and water-resistant saddlebags for the extra cargo

.Common features on all the four motorcycles are LED headlights, new fuel tank, improved electrical system charging, new instrumentation and steering head mounted USB charging port.
