TDP president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to stay away from campaigning on behalf of BJP-TDP nominee P Devaiah in the Warangal LS bypoll scheduled to be held on November 21.

Hyderabad: TDP president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to stay away from campaigning on behalf of BJP-TDP nominee P Devaiah in the Warangal LS bypoll scheduled to be held on November 21.

Though he is not campaigning in the by-election, Naidu has directed his party leaders to see that the rank and file put in their best of efforts to ensure the victory of the candidate.

Party sources said that ‘Naidu will only monitor the campaign and advise the leaders from time to time on campaign style’. It is learnt that the party chief has instructed the party leaders to maintain restrain and not to make ‘controversial and objectionable comments and statements’ against any leader, including Telangana Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao during the campaign.

Telangana TDP president L Ramana told The Hans India that Naidu would not take part in the campaign. However, Naidu will actively participate in the campaign

for the ensuing GHMC election.”

Meanwhile, the TRS has intensified campaign by roping almost all the ministers in the KCR Cabinet. Though the party is confident of a sure victory, KCR has been working out strategies to retain big majority secured in 2014 election by party candidate Kadiyam Srihari.
