The much awaited event to help grow and develop medical tourism in India has been announced to take place in Hyderabad in India. The International India Medical Tourism Congress, popularly known as IIMTC, will witness the presence and knowledge sharing from the representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Health, Govt. of India; Chamber of Commerce, International Associations, Academicians as well as Healthcare Professionals. The two-day conference, taking place on 3-4 September 2016, aims to promote Indian medical tourism in the international market and educate and support the medical tourism stakeholders.


This is the third edition of IIMTC, and previous two events IIMTC 2014 and IIMTC 2015 proved their significance in establishing the foothold of medical tourism in India. The IIMTC 2016 will further strengthen the emerging medical tourism sector in the country and will witness important brainstorming sessions from the key stakeholders in the medical tourism industry. Experts from the Middle East countries, SAARC countries, European countries and African countries will participate in the two-day event to take place in the state capital of Telengana.


The organizers of the International India Medical Tourism Congress aim at making India as the preferred medical tourism hub of the world. With the presence of quality and affordable healthcare facilities across the length and breadth of the country, India has the potential of emerging as a preferred medical tourism destination of the world. According to an Economic Times report, Indian Medical Tourism industry presently stands at USD 3 billion and by 2020, it will be a USD 8 billion industry. India has the largest number of accredited healthcare facilities after Thailand and the country is showing a huge growth prospects in the medical tourism sector. The IIMTC 2016 will pave the way for the Indian facilities to tap the larger sector of the worldwide medical tourism industry.
