Massachusetts Institute of Technology would be organising a Global Startup Workshop in the city from March 21 to 23. The three-day workshop which is powered by KGS Advisors LLP (KGS), core partner Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) and Host Partner Catalyzer, will be attended by 400 start-up representatives from across the country and globe. 

Hyderabad: Massachusetts Institute of Technology would be organising a Global Startup Workshop in the city from March 21 to 23. The three-day workshop which is powered by KGS Advisors LLP (KGS), core partner Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) and Host Partner Catalyzer, will be attended by 400 start-up representatives from across the country and globe.

The workshop aims to build on the overwhelming success of the MIT GSW in the past which brought together thousands of participants from more than 70 international markets and representatives from across the globe. This event has run successfully since 1998 across leading cities globally. Well known customer bases including the venture capital firms, private equity investors and educational institutions will be panel of speakers.

The panel discussions will include topics such as Manufacturing in India, Funding Landscape (VC, Angel, Private Equity), Intellectual Property in India and Women in Entrepreneurship. The sessions will also include hand-on workshops such as running a successful incubator, pitching to VCs/ investors, business plan competitions etc. for the start-ups.

“This is a unique workshop for startups and aspiring entrepreneurs. It is full of content and focused on innovation and high tech manufacturing which is hard to find. India needs such a workshop,” says Tripti Shinghal Somani, CEO and Managing Director–KGS Advisors.

The event will be attended by some prominent members including Union MSME minister Kalraj Mishra, Union IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India R Chidambaram and Vivek Lall, Reliance Chief of Staff Mukesh Ambani. MIT GSW is more than just a conference. It has become a premiere global training and networking event for entrepreneurs. Every year, MIT GSW is hosted in a different country and this year MIT GSW is coming to Hyderabad.

Competition like MIT GSW Business Plan Competition 2016 and MIT GSW Elevator Pitch Competition 2016 have been arranged and winners of the competition will be given a cash prize of $ 10,000 and $ 2000 respectively. Advisory board consists of Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India R Chidambaram, MIT Alumni Association president John Chisholm, MIT Alum & Chairman of Godrej Group Adi Godrej, MIT South Asia Alumni Association president Gurumurthy Kalyanaram and among others.
