After reeling from scorching heat wave conditions, Telangana witnessed rainfall all over the state on Saturday following which the Indian Meteorological Department withdrew the 10-day severe heat wave warning.

With the rains, the temperature has come down in the state from 42.5ºC that was recorded earlier in the day. Hyderabad was drenched in the thunderstorm the entire evening as the skies clouded up all day followed by strong winds and lightning before the rain started pouring in. Due to the heavy gusts, GHMC officials received several complaints of fallen trees and a breakdown of the power supply. Rahmathnagar, Borabanda, Banjara Hills, Masab Tank, Secunderabad and Begumpet witnessed strong winds and heavy rain. At almost all major city junctions, traffic jams were reported.

The forecast for the coming few days is moderate rain or thundershowers and most places in the state are expected to record maximum temperature between 40ºC and 44ºC.
