Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday reacted strongly against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu warning the latter to stop playing politics with Telangana's irrigation projects or the sentiments of people in the state. KCR was reacting to Chandrababu's statement that AP won't compromise until it gets its rightful share of Krishna waters.

Chandrababu had alleged that due to the upper riparian states like Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana utilising Krishna water, the Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar projects water levels decreased drastically but KCR said that no on can stop Telangana from utilizing its share of water, provide irrigation to one crore acres and complete irrigation projects.

KCR warned not to provoke Telangana else will be facing the consequences.

The Chief Minister further pointed out that the Telangana government sanctioned new irrigation projects, earmarking Rs 25,000 crore annually in the Budget. KCR questioned Chandrababu and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy whether Godavari doesn't have enough water adding that the river has surplus water even after both the states utilize their shares.
