The Hans India takes initiative to help stranded tourists
As many as 65 people from both the Telugu States were stranded in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu due to the negligent attitude of the tour operator. People from Khammam, Krishna, Guntur and Srikakulam districts were among those who were stuck in Nepal. Some of them called a reporter of The Hans India by phone and sought the support to reach them back to India.

Takes the matter to Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao’s notice
The Hans correspondent took this matter to Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao who reacted promptly and spoke to Telangana Special Representative at Delhi Venugopalacari. He took the matter to the authorities concerned. He explained the situation to the authorities in Nepal and asked to make appropriate arrangements to return the pilgrims to the home country.
Speaking to the newspaper, Venugopalacari said that the pilgrims had to face difficulties due to the negligence of the tour operator. All the necessary measures are being taken up on behalf of the government to bring everyone safely back to their villages, he said. Vempati Satyanarayana from Khammam who was trapped in Kathmandu explained over the phone the hardships they had to face there.
He said that they suffered a lot for four days without sleep, food and accommodation. He added that Kailash travelers of Hyderabad collected Rs 2 lakh from each but acted in an irresponsible manner. Another tourist Raju said that they were having a tough time with aged people in the country that was not familiar. He said that they would only come to India if the State government interfered immediately.
