Hyderabad: With the Telangana government reorganising the State from Dasara, Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Monday held a video conference with senior police officers seeking proposals for reorganisation of the department at the earliest and to improve policing.

The DGP asked SPs of all the districts to submit detailed proposals to the headquarters by end of August. With the proposed revenue divisions and mandals, the jurisdictions of several police stations would be affected and hence new district maps prepared could be used as reference to prepare circle and police station-wise maps, he advised officers.

The DGP also asked SPs to identify 30 to 40-acre plots to construct new buildings for the SP offices in districts and asked them to send details of the Ministerial staff and estimated budget needed for reorganisation. He also said that a senior officer from the headquarters would take part in monitoring and assisting district SPs for quick drafting of proposals.
