​The Cyberabad traffic police on Saturday warned the motorists of seizing their vehicles if they failed to carry Aadhaar card while travelling.

The police said keeping in view the safety and security of the citizens, the rules have been made along with the existing mandatory requirements of carrying driving licence and registration certificate.

“Carrying of Aadhaar card by all the vehicle drivers is mandatory from Sunday in the limits of East and West Cyberabad commissionerates.

If anybody is found driving vehicles without carrying the Aadhaar card and other documents, the vehicle will be seized on the spot and a case will be booked under the Motor Vehicle Act sections,” said Cyberabad DCP (Traffic) A R Srinivas.

The DCP, in a note on Saturday, said, “We request the public to carry the required documents and produce them before police when their vehicles are intercepted.”
