Electrician dies in roof collapse

A 50-year-old electrician from Secunderabad died when the roof of his dilapidated shop collapsed due to heavy rain on Tuesday.
Hyderabad: A 50-year-old electrician from Secunderabad died when the roof of his dilapidated shop collapsed due to heavy rain on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Gopal, a resident of Secunderabad and has ‘Santosh Electronics’ shop at Shivaji Nagar. He was working in the shop when the roof collapsed around 8.15 pm.
A rescue team of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation pulled out Gopal from the debris and rushed him to Gandhi hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
On learning about the incident, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasihuddin visited the scene and asked GHMC officials to be alert to such eventualities.
