Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari on Thursday inaugurated Hyderabad Public School (HPS) Warangal branch at Madikonda on the outskirts of the city. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was striving to make Warangal as an educational hub after Hyderabad. 

Warangal: Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari on Thursday inaugurated Hyderabad Public School (HPS) Warangal branch at Madikonda on the outskirts of the city.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was striving to make Warangal as an educational hub after Hyderabad.

Setting up the HPS was a part of such efforts and ensures quality education to the students in Warangal.

He asked the HPS management to introduce higher sections in the next three years as the school now offering primary education only. The HPS Warangal branch should excel among all its other branches.

Srihari further said that efforts were being taken to offer quality engineering education enabling the students to face competition at international level. As part of which, 2.40 lakh engineering seats among 340 colleges were reduced to one lakh.

The CM was interested in setting up IIM in Warangal as the Centre was planning to establish an IIM in each State. B Sc (agriculture) would be introduced at Agriculture Research Centre at Mulug road and the land was allocated to Veterinary College sanctioned to the district, Srihari said.

Government Advisor BV Papa Rao, ZP Chairperson G Padma, Mayor N Narender, MLA D Vinay Bhasker, ex-MP Surender Reddy and Congress senior leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy have expressed pleasure at the inauguration of the HPS in Warangal.

District Collector V Karuna, Hyderabad Public Schools board of governors vice-chairman Gusti J Noria, HPS Society President P Jagadish Reddy, vice-president A Shyam Mohan, members R Raghu Ram Reddy and Marri Aditya Reddy and HPS Warangal Principal L Saritha were present.
