Khammam: Slain Maoist-renegade Nayeemuddin’s links with Khammam district has been causing a sensation after it came to light that he had used a house in Gandhinagar Colony in Chintakani mandal, about seven kilometres from the district centre on the main highway, as shelter during 2011-14.

Residents have been discussing about his several visits during nights to the house along with his wife and children in a black Scorpio along with a convoy of vehicles, told Nagarjuna, an eye witness.

Speaking to The Hans India, another resident, Rama Rao told that Nayeem, who was then presumed to be an employee working in Dubai, had donated Rs 1,10,116 for the construction of Hanuman temple immediately after he was requested.

As a proof of this, he got a plaque fixed on the temple premises in the name of his parents. People have been spending anxious moments after learning that Nayeem was a dreaded killer.

They have been virtually spending sleepless nights. A hot debate is on across Khammam whether the late gangster had any links with the district and if so who had cooperated with his gang. Reports that he had hidden large amounts of cash and gold in the house were causing a sensation.

Interestingly, after some days, dacoits made an attempt to break into the house when no one was present. However, after coming to know of the burglary attempt, Nayeem’s family did not lodge a police complaint.

The use of CC cameras in the house with huge grills also strengthened the residents’ suspicion. Residents of the colony said no one used to come out of the house and did not maintain contacts with others.

Even though the house was given on rent later and the fact that the present resident did not wish to discuss the issue only gives credence to their suspicion.

Meanwhile, Revenue and police officials, who learnt about Nayeem’s house from media reports, inspected it on Friday. VRO Venkateswarlu told The Hans India that details would be made public after completion of the investigation.
