Hyderabad: Endowment and Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said on Thursday that the Telangana State would successfully wade out of the water scarcity problem with the signing of a historic pact with Maharashtra government to construct barrages across the River Godavari and its tributaries.

The TRS government would construct barrages as per schedule and move ahead with its plan to irrigate one crore acres of land over the next five years, he said.

The Minister who was participating in Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at Venugopala Swamy temple at KPHB Colony in Kukatpally in the city, maintained that the Krishashtami festival was being celebrated across the country as devout turn up with festive fervour and gaiety.
