Hyderabad: Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao convene an all-party meeting to discuss the fallout arising out of Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict on Krishna water sharing. He said the verdict was a setback to both Telugu States.

Speaking to the media at Assembly media hall here, Sudhakar Reddy said the Tribunal had rejected the demand by Telangana State that Krishna water be redistributed among the four riparian States.

The verdict would inflict heavy damage on the interests of the State. He wondered whether the counsels representing the State had failed to put forward their arguments resolutely in front of the Tribunal.

Pointing out that the Chief Minister had criticised opposition parties seriously, but failed to protect the interests of the State, the MLC demanded that the Ministers from AP in the Union Cabinet quit to put pressure on the Centre.

He said the Congress party was ready to cooperate with the TRS in protecting the interests of the State.
