A six-day training programme on ‘Pedagogical skills for teacher aspirants in science and engineering education’ got underway here on Thursday at the National Institute of Technology (NIT).

Warangal: A six-day training programme on ‘Pedagogical skills for teacher aspirants in science and engineering education’ got underway here on Thursday at the National Institute of Technology (NIT).

The programme is being jointly organised by the Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) MHRD and NIT.

NIT in-charge Director Prof GRC Reddy and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chennai, Prof BG Barki former director delivered lecture at the inaugural session.

Prof Barki, addressing the gathering appreciated the efforts of the TLC in taking initiative to develop teaching skills among the teacher aspirants. He described the teaching profession as the noble one which gives immense satisfaction to those engaged in it.

The profession also helps produce quality human resource for the progress of the country, he added.
The programme coordinator and research fellow emeritus of TLC at NIT, Prof BV Appa Rao expressed concern over the dearth of quality and motivated teachers.

He presented an analysis of current situation and explained how the teaching profession undergone change during the past few decades. The TLC core team member K Madhavi and others were present.
