A division bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice U Durga Prasad Rao on Friday called upon the Advocate General of Telangana State to inform the court on how it intended to provide alternate accommodation to senior IAS officer Ramesh.

The controversy surrounds the AP cadre officer refusing to vacate his premises at the Marri Chenna Reddy Institute. The Telangana State government took a stance that it was for the AP government to provide accommodation to its officers.

In what seemed yet another slugfest, the AP AG and the Telangana State AG took contrasting stances. Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan pointedly asked the Advocate General of Telangana State if they would have the senior IAS officer of AP cadre on the roads. The matter is listed to Monday.

The Advocate General of AP pointed out that the order requiring the officer to vacate the premises unfairly dubbed him as a trespasser and it would be set a bad precedence in dealing with the officers of the sibling States.
