Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan and submitted the resolution adopted at the recent Cabinet meeting, seeking all the buildings allotted to Andhra Pradesh in the Secretariat. He also appealed to the Governor to pursue the issue with AP government actively.
As per the AP Reorganisation Act, L, J, North-H, South-H and K blocks in the Secretariat have been allotted to Andhra Pradesh and A,B, C, D to Telangana State to run the administration from these buildings for a period of 10 years. As the AP government has shifted all its employees to the new capital, Amaravati, Telangana State government has proposed to construct a new Secretariat by demolishing all the existing structures.
Sources said the Chief Minister explained in detail his government’s plans to establish a new Secretariat by bringing all the offices of the Ministers, Secretaries and Heads of the Departments (HoDs) under a single roof. KCR also informed the Governor on the functioning of the administration in the new districts and the steps taken for the smooth conduct of administration.
