Khammam: With the sanctioning of Rs 77 crore for the construction of Dhamsalapuram Rail Over Bridge along with the construction of double bedroom houses, all the developmental works were going on at a quicker pace in the district, said the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao here in Khammam on Thursday.

The R&B Minister participated in several developmental programmes here in Khammam on Thursday. He inaugurated the road works at a cost of Rs 80 lakh in YSR Nagar in the city.

Accompanied with the local MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, the Minister laid foundation stone for the construction of 180 double bedroom houses in Allipuram of the Khammam city, along with inaugurating 33/11 K.V power sub-station established at a cost of Rs 2 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, the R&B Minister said with sanctioning of Rs 77 crore by the government the demand of the people for the construction of Dhamsalapuram RoB that was pending for a long time was going to be fulfilled. As per the promises made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during his visit to Khammam in February, all the developmental works were in progress, said the Minister.

He also said the government was determined to construct about 2,000 double bedroom houses for the weaker sections of the people living under the city limits.

The construction works of 400 houses was already in progress and tenders for another 400 houses would be invited within a week, informed Tummala. He also said to prevent the low-voltage problems in the city, the government has established nearly six power sub-stations for supplying quality electricity.

And also to provide safe drinking water to the people living in the city, the government has sanctioned Rs 250 crore under drinking water project and the works were already in progress.

The Minister assured that the construction works of Sarathinagar under bridge would be completed very soon. MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, city Mayor Dr Papalal and RJC Krishna accompanied the Minister.
