Hyderabad: Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma on Tuesday said that Telangana police will set up cyber crime labs in all the districts and commissionerates including those that are newly formed.

Inaugurating a 3-day training programme on cyber security and cashless transactions, the DGP said the idea was to have Cyber Crime Cell in each district and Commissionerates so that they will help the investigating officers in the investigation of the cyber crimes and also in gathering digital evidences in conventional crimes.

Anurag Sharma said the need of the hour was to move towards cashless economy and the police should personnel should be prepared to outrun cyber criminals.

Entire police force should acquire necessary skills to investigate, detect, collect and present digital evidence in the courts of law.

The training programme is being organised by the cyber crime wing of the crime investigation department headed by Soumya Mishra.

Select police personnel from all the districts of Telangana and senior police officers were present at the inauguration programme.
