Hyderabad: Telangana BJP unit would organise a job mela for the unemployed youth of the city at PG Law college in the Nizam College premises on December 11.

Former MLC and BJP leader K Dileep Kumar said that about 40 to 50 companies like Kotak Bank, Big Basket, Flipkart etc would be hiring eligible candidates.

The companies will give offer letters to about 300 candidates on the same day. The youth with qualification from SSC to B Tech can attend the job mela, he said.

Dileep Kumar said that there is a provision for registration of unsuccessful candidates also. The candidates who could not clear the interview can register themselves in the registration counter for career counselling.

Soon a skill development career Counseling Centre would be started at Begumpet, which would be inaugurated by Union Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.

The BJP leader alleged that the State government was not releasing funds for the skill development centres in the state.

He said that Centre gave Rs 170 crore for skill development centres but the state government did not release the matching grant.

The neighbouring Andhra Pradesh government released Rs 300 crore but there is no effort by the Telangana government, he alleged.

“Andhra Pradesh has separate Skill Development Council. For some reason Telangana government was not taking enough steps. Though there is a Skill Council there are no funds,” alleged Dileep.
