All that is required is an environment that is conducive to meeting the special needs of children who have difficulties with say hearing, sight or movement, but who can respond to stimulus and sing, play music, dance or otherwise express themselves creatively as well as any other child.  

Hyderabad: Children with physical disabilities can be otherwise gifted, having a special talent in one field or the other.

All that is required is an environment that is conducive to meeting the special needs of children who have difficulties with say hearing, sight or movement, but who can respond to stimulus and sing, play music, dance or otherwise express themselves creatively as well as any other child.

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) encourages such children to express themselves and showcase their talents for an extraordinary experience.

NTPC organised a special programme for differently abled children at Sweekar Upkaar Centre in Secunderabad on December, 7, as a part of ‘World Disability Day’ celebrations.

Around 400 differently abled children from special needs children's schools in the twin cities viz. MR School, School for Deaf and Dumb, School for Visually Impaired and Autism, Durgabhai Deshmukh Rehabilitation Centre, Devnar Foundation for Blind, Sweekar Rehabilitation Sciences for Deaf and Dumb and MR, Sri Vidya School for MR and Bhavita Govt. School, and Amrita Varshini for MR took part in different events.

V B Fadnavis, Regional Executive Director (South), NTPC Ltd., Neeta Fadnavis, president, Dakshin Deepanjali Mahila Samiti, T Prarap, AGM (HR), Sunil Mokashy, Dy. Director (Sweekar), and parents of the students were present at the programme. Neeta Fadnavis, president, DDMS, presented prizes to the children.
