Led by the Commissioner, about 100 police officials conducted cordon and search operations in LMD colony and Mahatma Nagar of Karimnagar in the early hours on Thursday and seized 12 two-wheelers, two autos and a car, which do not have proper documents along with liquor and gutka packets. They also found liquor bottles stored in a belt shop.

Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner said gutka is more harmful than other forms of tobacco and mutka will spoil the life of people. Everyone must cooperate with the police officials to make Karimnagar free from using of gutka and playing mutka.

Recollecting the encounter of two notorious criminals in LMD Colony in 2009, he said that there are possibilities of suspicious persons taking shelter to carry out anti-social activities in the areas with less population, such as LMD colony.

To prevent any untoward incidents and also to maintain law and order the cordon and search operations are conducted in such areas under the Commissionerate limits.

Interacting with people, the Commissioner asked the public to inform the police immediately if they find any persons moving suspiciously in their areas and to take complete details of unknown persons who take houses on rent.

He appreciated the services of the newly introduced Blue Colts team and SHE-teams and said that they are giving good results. Assistant Commissioner of Police J Rama Rao, Circle Inspector Venkata Ramana, SI Krishna Reddy and bomb disposal squad were present along with dog squad and other police officials.
