In the next fortnight people would be able to purchase rail, air and bus tickets at Rythu Bazars. Buoyed by the good response to token system launched on November 18, 2016, the Agriculture marketing department decided to extend its services to other sectors as well.
Till December 12, 2016, the department received revenues to the extent of Rs 17.40 lakh from the Rythu Bazars in Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal and Siddipet districts. Deputy Director of Marketing Padmaharsha said people who find difficulty paying electricity; water and other bills will be able to pay their bills.
Also all bills that are accepted at eSeva would be accepted here. She further added that the bills which are paid in eSeva will soon be able to pay their bills and also book railway, bus and flight tickets through debit or credit card at all the Rythu Bazars by the end of the month.
She also added that the payment of bills has recently started in Mehdipatnam Rythu Bazar. Explaining about the growing awareness and acceptability, Alwal Rythu Bazar officer Sai Kumar said that token system is now installed in all the Rythu Bazars in the city.
He further said the number of takers for tokens is also increasing by the day. In the beginning, consumers were confused to take tokens or pay the farmers by cash but now people are opting for cashless transactions, said Sai Kumar.
Alwal Rythu Bazar officer said, “We would soon be getting waterproof tokens and also new tokens of 50, 100 and 500 along with the old tokens of 5, 10 and 20”.
A vegetable seller at Rythu Bazar Muhammad Mazir said, “The token system is very good because we do not have to give change to all the costumers.
Whenever we go to the counter for exchange of token, the bank officials will immediately give us the cash”.
Customer Nagi Reddy said, “It is been more than a week that they have started this token system in Alwal Rythu Bazar and we do not have any problem.”
