Hanamkonda: The TRS government rule was no different from the previous regimes that ruled the united Andhra Pradesh, stated CPM district secretary S Vasudeva Reddy.

After the formation of separate Telangana, only the ruling class has changed but the nature of the rule was the same like in the past. Dalits, backward classes, minorities and women, who account for 93 per cent of production in the State, were not receiving the benefits of development activities.

There would be no meaning of having a separate State without the development of SC/ST/BC, minorities and women and the government should take up programmes aiming at their welfare, the CPM leader said.

Speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Wednesday, he informed that the CPM’s Mahajana Padayatra would be arriving in Warangal Urban district on January 1, 2017.

The padayatra was aimed to educate the people on the developmental model adopted by the state and on the need to bring about changes in the model.

The people, mainly unemployed youth, women and suppressed classes in the State have hoped that their lives would be changed in Telangana State. But the TRS government has failed to deliver its election promises, on the other hand has been spreading false information on the development of the state.

There was no progress in the construction of double bed room houses, IT hub, three acres land to dalits, regularisation of contract employees and others.

Hence common public, intellectuals and party sympathizers should take part in the padayatra in large numbers to put pressure on the TRS rulers to fulfil the promises they made, Vasudeva Reddy appealed.

He announced the names of leaders appointed for 14 area and mandal committees of the party. The party leaders M Venkata Swamy, Ragula Ramesh, Godugu Venkat and others were present.
