New Delhi: Minister for Forests and Environment and BC Welfare Jogu Ramanna met Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Tawar Chand Gehlot, here on Wednesday and urged him to render justice to the State as Telangana region had been grossly neglected all along by both the Central and united Andhra Pradesh governments.

Though there were proposals for establishing 13 Social Welfare Hostels in Telangana, corrupt officials of the previous regimes had not forwarded the relevant details to the Centre and that had led to non-release of funds so far, he said and urged the Union Minister to release the same.

The Union Minister advised Ramanna to submit the utilisation certificates for the past releases so that new fund releases could be considered. Ramanna also urged him to release post and pre-metric scholarships for students and funds through the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation to help extend financial help to nomadic people too.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP Dr B Narsaiah Goud who accompanied the Minister said Gehlot agreed to visit Hyderabad after the Budget session and review the welfare measures adopted by the State government to uplift the BCs in the State so that the best practices could be replicated across the country by the Centre.
