Kothagudem: District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu on Wednesday said that better percentage of SSC marks can be achieved only when headmasters and teachers show commitment to their teaching.

Addressing a meeting of SC, ST and BC high school headmasters, he stated that if HMs and teachers discharge their duty responsibly schools would develop in all respects and better students could be turned out.

‘If 100 per cent results have to be obtained in the SSC examination, efforts should be made right from the VI class itself to have a clear plan of teaching’. To avoid pre-examination stress for students teaching should be done in a friendly and tension free atmosphere so that improved results could be achieved, the Collector stressed.

Hanumanthu advised HMs to encourage lowly placed students to study well along with those ranked in first, second and third division. This would enable them to secure better results. He said as teaching was regarded a noble profession, teachers should do justice to their jobs.

The Collector assured HMs to provide funds for setting up labs and libraries for the benefit of students.

The Collector called upon HMs to give suggestions to students on their future studies also. He advised them to contribute to the career counselling being arranged for students.

Among those present were DEO Hayagrivachary, SC Development Officer Maheshwar, STDO Jaidev Abraham, BCDO Samuel, Additional Commissioner of Government Examinations Rama Rao and MEO Venkatramayya.
