Yadadri: Issuing old tickets printed during the regime of the united Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming Brahmotsavam celebrations to be held from February 27 by Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple authorities has stirred a controversy.

According to Telugu Mahila President Bandru Sobharani despite the State government allocating Rs 1 crore for the celebrations, tickets printed three years ago are being used instead of issuing new ones. Selling tickets printed during the old regime has incensed devotees and locals.

Upon gauging the public mood the temple authorities started issuing handwritten slips in place of tickets allegedly. Stating that tickets were not yet ready many devotees were turned away by the officials reportedly irking those visiting the temple from distant places.

The locals have also been demanding free entry to the Kalyanam of the deity to be held at Balalayam, located at the foot of the Yadadri instead of paying Rs 2,500 to witness the ritual. Former temple trustee Pelimelli Sridhar suggested the officials to issue new tickets.
