Kuravi (Mahabubabad): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao tore into the Opposition parties for criticising presentation of golden ornaments to deities of various temples by him in the recent times.

It was not proper for the parties to politicise fulfilling of religious vows. Fulfilling of vows was meant for the wellbeing of people in the State and it was wrong to drag god into politics, he said.

Speaking to the media on Friday, after offering golden ‘Kora Meesalu’ (swirling moustaches) to Lord Veerabhadra Swamy at Kuravi in Mahabubabad district, Chandrashekar Rao dubbed the Opposition leaders as ‘sannasulu’ for faulting his offerings to the Gods.

He also flayed the Communists for making needless allegations saying it was painful that a person like CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy was making such allegations. It was not correct on part of Suravaram to make allegations on ‘yagam’ urging Gods to bless all to be good. He said he had urged Kuravi Veerabhadra Swamy to make separate Telangana a reality and offered gold ‘kora meesalu’ on Maha Sivarathri day and fulfilled the same.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced he would allocate Rs 5 crore for the development of the Kuravi temple and Rs 1 crore each for the development of Dornakal and Maripeda towns. Rs 25 lakh each to 77 gram panchayaths in Dornakal constituency would be allocated for development.

He said land acquisition process was over for the Textile Park proposed in Warangal Rural district. Foundation stone would be laid soon for the Textile Park, he said. He assured that adequate irrigation water would be provided for two crops to the old Warangal district.

Reminding that the Congress leaders did nothing to Telangana though the people gave them chance for 40 long years, he expressed anger at the Congress leaders alleging that they were obstructing construction of projects. He said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would expose the Congress attitude in the coming budget session. The Congress leaders were obstructing the projects by filing cases in Green Tribunal and courts, he alleged, and said that the TRS would pull the Congress in the House with proofs.

Dubbing the Congress culture as ‘cheap liquor’ culture, Chandrashekar Rao alleged that the Congress leaders’ lives were slavery lives. He alleged that the Congress leaders had become a dacoit gang to obstruct the projects and harming the interests of farmers. He alleged that the people were mere votes in view of Congress leaders and they never cared about the problems of the people.

The Chief Minister reminded that the State government had taken up welfare programs with Rs 36,000crore and it was nowhere in India. This year the BC’s budget would be Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000crore, he said adding that special self respect status would be accorded to Nayi Brahmans and as part of it 30,000 hygienic saloons would be set up across the State. About 88 lakh sheep with Rs 4,000 crore would be distributed to Yadavs, he announced and suggested journalists to announce war against the leaders obstructing development.
