Driver dies at steering wheel after parking bus safely off highway
An RTC bus driver died on steering wheel while driving the bus from Khammam to Hyderabad at Nakrekal on Sunday morning.
Nalgonda: An RTC bus driver died on steering wheel while driving the bus from Khammam to Hyderabad at Nakrekal on Sunday morning. Saidulu (45), attached to Khammam depot, suffered a heart stroke when the bus was at a highway speed. Still worried about the passengers' safety, he mustered energy to control the vehicle which had 37 passengers on board, and parked safely on the left. It was still dark at 3 in the morning.
As the bus stopped without any obstruction in the front, passengers suspected something wrong and checked on the driver who was lying on the steering wheel. Then they realized that he was already dead and informed the police. The police arranged another bus for the passengers and body of the driver was sent for post-mortem.
