Khammam/ Warangal: Whether it was leak or malpractice, whatever you may call it but it’s certainly a breach of confidentiality. It seems that no public examination these days is going without some kind of blemish.

And the ongoing SSC exams are no different, it seems. The question paper of the English first paper that held on Tuesday went viral on social media in Khammam and in some places of Warangal Rural district before the completion of the examination.

While the examination time is 9.30 am to 12.15 noon, all six pages of the question paper have come out on WhatsApp messaging platform at around 11 am, according to sources.

This being a sensitive issue, Khammam District Collector DS Lokesh Kumar was quick to respond. “Actually, it’s not a leak. Hence, there is no question of re-examination. The other exams will go on as per the schedule.” Quoting the media reports, he said that it’s a case of malpractice as the question paper reportedly appeared on social media well after the commencement of the examination.”

Further he asked the students not to get confused over the incident as the administration is taking care of the examinations. Moreover, the issue didn’t happen in the district, he added.

Commissioner of Police Shahnawaz Qasim said: “A case in this regard has been registered by the III Town police station and the investigation is on.” We will crack the case in a couple of days, he expressed confidence, stating that stringent action will be taken against the wrongdoers.

On the other hand, the Warangal Police Commissionerate took the issue on a serious note following the suspicion that the WhatsApp message was originated from Wardhannapet Assembly constituency headquarters in Warangal Rural district. Sources said that police has already taken a person belonging to a private school in Wardhannapet into the custody for questioning.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that question paper has come out on WhatsApp soon after the commencement of the exam. It is also alleged that some private schools in connivance with some officials of the education department were responsible for the leak.

Blaming the officials, Telugu Desam MLA and TTD Board member Sandra Venkata Veeraiah said: “The government should immediately act against those who involved in the incident to create a sense of confidence among the students.”
