Hyderabad: The CAG findings on the non-utilisation of funds earmarked under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Sub- Plan for the year 2015-16 has put the State government in a fix. A day after the release of the report, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday sought an explanation on the aspect.

The Chief Minister asked Chief Secretary S P Singh to submit a detailed report on the delay in the execution of the projects meant for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and ensure optimum utilisation of funds during the current financial year. KCR was furious at low expenditure incurred under the Sub- Plans when compared to other departments, a top official told The Hans India.

According to officials, the Chief Secretary instructed the officials to come up with constructive suggestions to formulate new guidelines and plans for proper utilisation of funds under SC, ST special development fund. He explained the officials that the Chief Minister would review the progress of the plan periodically. It may be mentioned here that, CAG had pulled up the State government for spending less than 50 per cent of the total funds allocated to the Sub- Plans.
