Hyderabad: Internal rifts of Congress came to light at Gandhi Bhavan when Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) leader G Narayana Reddy and Komatireddy brothers engaged in a verbal spat before AICC in-charge of state affairs Digvijaya Singh.

At a meeting with district party leaders, presided over by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Narayana Reddy engaged in a verbal duel with Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Rajagopal Reddy over the selection of party president for Nalgonda district, from where the three leaders hailed.

The Congress leaders lost their cool and jostled each other and also indulged in fist fight. A shocked Digvijaya asked the TPCC president to take action against the leaders. Speaking to media, the party in-charge said Congress was performing well under the leadership of Uttam Kumar Reddy.

There will not be change of guard as party high command had decided to run the Congress under the leadership of the present TPCC chief. He called upon the rank and file to exhibit discipline and strive hard to regain the lost ground. He said the party should be focused on the next elections and not indulge in activities that would amount to indiscipline.
