All India Malayalees’ Association (AIMA), which has units in almost all States in the country, formed its unit in Telangana State also. The formation meeting was presided over by AIMA national general secretary P N Sreekumar, who also formally launched the State unit. 

Hyderabad: All India Malayalees’ Association (AIMA), which has units in almost all States in the country, formed its unit in Telangana State also. The formation meeting was presided over by AIMA national general secretary P N Sreekumar, who also formally launched the State unit.

Addressing the meeting, Sreekumar explained about the aims and functioning of AIMA all over the country. He said many well known Malayalee associations all over the country are either part of AIMA or working in coordination with AIMA, the national-level association of Malayalees.

The meeting held at the Vayupuri Recreation Club, Secunderabad, elected a 37-member State executive for a period of three years. T S C Prasad was elected president, C G Chandra Mohan and E J Verghese Lawrence vice presidents, M K Shashikumar general secretary, T Vinoj Verghese Treasurer, C K Rimju, C Unnikrishnan Pillai joint secretaries, C T Muralidharan joint treasurer. K U Isaac was elected the National Executive Committee member and Joby Mani the National General Council member.

A 16-member Executive Committee was also elected. Ravi Kumar Ambadi will be Bureau Chief of the Malayalee World, the publication of AIMA. T S C Prasad, C G Chandra Mohan, Sivaprasad K Vanoor and others spoke. C K Rimju proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting also discussed about the various issues and problems being faced by Keralites.
