Teratpally (Nalgonda): BJP national president Amit Shah on Monday accused the TRS government of not implementing the Central schemes properly for the benefit of the poor in the state. Braving the heat wave conditions, Amit Shah went from door-to-door in Teratpally village holding two pamphlets in his hand, one about the welfare schemes being implemented by the Narendra Modi government and the other listing the failures of the TRS government in the state.

After meeting the families, Amit Shah pasted a sticker relating to party's expansion programme, "Pandit Deendayal Jansatabdi Karya Vistar Yojana" on the doors of every house, as a symbolic gesture to show that the party has completed its 'publicity campaign' in that particular house. In all, Shah visited five houses in the village.

During his interaction with villagers, Amit Shah enquired about the problems they were facing. Veeraiah, a farmer, said the village was not getting sufficient power for agricultural purposes. He also complained to Shah that they were not getting water for irrigation and the drinking water had excess presence of fluoride which was crippling them.

Veeraiah requested the BJP president to take steps to free them from the clutches of fluorosis and ensure that they get safe drinking water. Another farmer, Yadaiah, said it was unbelievable that a big leader (Desa Adyakshudu) had come to his house and enquired about their problems. No big leader had so far visited my house, Yadaiah said. He said he was also happy that Shah had lunch with the villagers.

Later addressing the meeting of booth-level party workers in the village, Amit Shah said that it was shocking to know that though the Central government had launched the scheme of construction of 4.5 crore individual toilets under the Swachh Bharat scheme, the state government had not implemented it in this village. Many people are not even aware of it, he said.

The Modi government had introduced welfare schemes for all sections, including Dalits, tribals and farmers but they are not visible here. Shah said if voted to power in the state, the BJP would implement all the Central schemes in a foolproof manner. What is worse is that the state government had failed to supply even safe drinking water.

The BJP president called up on the party workers to spread across the district like a cyclone and visit every household so that Telangana can become a strong fortress for the BJP. He said, ''The way BJP leaders are striving in the state for the last two years I am confident that the BJP will form its government in the state in 2019.

He said this campaign would be taken further and 4 lakh active workers of the party would visit all villages and create awareness among the people about the Central schemes, their benefits and expose the state government’s failure in not implementing them. Earlier, the BJP president paid tributes to Gundagoni Mysaiah Goud.

He unveiled the statue of party leader, who was killed by the Maoists. He also held in-camera meeting with district office-bearers and intellectuals. He called upon the intellectuals to play a major role in popularising Central schemes. BJP state president K Laxman, party's national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao, party in-charge Krishna Das, organisation secretary Saudhan Singh, Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya and others were also present.
