Makloor (Nizamabad): Roads in several villages of Makloor mandal in the district are in a very bad shape making it difficult for people to commute. It is not easy for people to go from one village to another, especially in the interior areas. Several potholes have damaged the highways to a great extent. This is the situation for several years now.
A case in point is the Vallabhapur village which has a population of 800. Some of them are studying in the cities and they are having a harrowing time in going to the cities to pursue their studies and coming back. There are agricultural labourers too.
The villagers are extremely angry with the political leaders who just come to them during elections, make false promises to them and go away after elections without taking any action. Speaking to The Hans India here on Wednesday, some of them vented their ire against the political leaders and officials for their negligence. They said that buses do not come into the villages and they have to walk 3 to 4 km to catch a bus to go towns and cities. This has been going on for the last ten years, they added.
They wondered as to how ‘Bangaru Telangana’ could become a reality with the poor transport services in the villages. They said that Vallabhapur village has remained backward. The officials should also take interest not only in the national highways but also in improving the conditions of the roads in villages.
While the Central government has stated that it has sanctioned huge amounts of funds for the development of roads, the State government has claimed that they have improved the conditions of roads by constructing cement concrete roads. However, the conditions of roads in several villages of Makloor mandal remain miserable.
The Chief Minister has also said that the highways should be free from potholes and warned that action would be taken against the officials concerned if potholes were found on the roads. The villagers expressed the hope that the conditions of roads would be improved and bus services introduced.
