Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao claimed that if elections were held now, Telangana Rashtra Samithi would sweep the Assembly polls by winning 111 seats on its own.

According to party leaders, the Chief Minister, who revealed the details of the latest survey he had got done, at the TRS Legislative Party meeting held at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, said TRS will win 111 seats, the AIMIM six seats and the Congress will be the only opposition party which will register its presence in the Assembly by winning just two seats.

KCR said that the MIM presently has seven MLAs and they are likely to lose the Nampally seat. The two seats the Congress would win according to KCR’s survey are Madhira in Khammam which is represented by Bhatti Vikramarka and Kalwakurthy in Mahbubnagar district represented by Ch Vamshichand Reddy.

Interestingly, the last survey report of KCR said TRS would win 106 seats but now the figure has gone up to 111. KCR, according to the party leaders, said that there would be no Modi wave in the state and the opposition parties have lost their ground as they have no issues to fight against the government. The TRS, he added, would win all the seats even in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation areas. The BJP, he said, will lose all the seats.

It is also learnt that the visit of BJP national president Amit Shah and his speeches as well as the proposed visit of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi on June 2 were discussed during the meeting. The Chief Minister is said to have directed the party leaders to go to the people, increase their interaction with them and expose the “blatant lies” of BJP.

When asked whom the TRS would support in the Presidential elections, the party leaders said that they had authorised KCR to take a decision in the matter. Some said that there was a possibility of the party maintaining a neutral stand.

The Chief Minister asked the TRS legislators to make grand celebrations to mark completion of three years of Telangana formation from June 2 onwards. He also stressed on the need to hasten the process of recruitment in various departments.

The meeting, which was attended by almost all ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs was held under tight security. The participants, including ministers were not allowed to carry their mobiles into the meeting hall.
